# Errors

> What each MCP error means and what to do.

When a tool can't do something, it returns a tool error (`isError: true`) with one sentence saying what happened and what to do next. The AI app usually passes it on in its own words.

## Sign-in

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| Your VoiceAIWrapper connection has ended. Connect your account again to continue. | The connection was disconnected, you reset your password, or you left the organization. Connect again from the AI app. |
| This needs more access than you allowed. Connect your account again and allow it. | The connection is missing a scope. Connect again and allow it. |
| VoiceAIWrapper isn't available for this account yet. | MCP access isn't turned on for your account. Contact support. |

When a sign-in error happens, the error also carries an OAuth challenge, so AI apps that support it show a **Connect** button straight away.

## Building agents

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| Add the business name, and its web address or a short description of it. | Give a `website` or a 2–3 sentence `description`. |
| Say what the calls are for, then try again. | Outbound agents need a `call_goal`. |
| That doesn't look like a web address. | Use one like `lakesidedental.com`, or describe the business instead. |
| Some of the details couldn't be used. Check them and try again. | Check the details you gave. |
| Some of the details are too long. Shorten them and try again. | Shorten long fields. |
| Daily build limit reached. Please try again tomorrow. | Wait until tomorrow. |
| This organization is out of credits. | Add credits in the VoiceAIWrapper app, then try again. |
| Another build is reading a site in this organization. | Try again in a minute. |
| This build is still working. Check again in a few seconds. | Wait, then check the build again. |
| This build has ended. Ask me to create the agent again. | Start a new build. |
| The build didn't finish: *reason*. You can try again. | Ask the AI app to try again; it calls `retry_agent_build`. |
| I couldn't read your website, so I used the details you gave me. | Not an error: the agent was built from your details. Check its instructions in the app. |

## Changing agents

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| Say what to change: the name, greeting, instructions or language. | Give at least one change. |
| The agent's name can't be empty. / That name is too long. | Use a different name. |
| That language isn't available. | Use one of the [supported languages](/documentation/mcp/limits.md#languages). |
| That change couldn't be saved. Check it and try again. | The same checks as the app failed; adjust the change. |

## Widgets and numbers

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| There's no agent in this organization yet. | Build a website chatbot, which comes with its widget. |
| This agent has no web widget yet. | Ask the AI app to create one. |
| Your widget will start taking visitors once your plan includes web widgets. | Not an error: the widget exists but refuses visitors on your current plan. |
| There's no free number in this organization. | Connect or buy a number in the VoiceAIWrapper app. |
| That number isn't free in this organization. | Ask which numbers are free, then pick one. |
| The number couldn't be connected just now. | Try again in a few minutes, or connect it in the VoiceAIWrapper app. |

## General

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| I couldn't find that in this organization. | The agent or build doesn't exist, was deleted, or belongs to another organization. Use `list_agents` to find the right id, or check which organization you're connected to with `whoami`. |
| This organization is paused, so changes can't be made right now. | You can still view your agents. Changes work again once the organization is active. |
| That request id was already used with other details. | Use a new `request_id` for a new request. |
| Too many requests. Please try again in a minute. | You hit the [rate limit](/documentation/mcp/limits.md#rate-limit). |
| Something went wrong (ref XXXXXXXX). Please try again. | Try again. If it keeps happening, contact support and quote the 8-character ref. |
